Warp knitted spacer microfiber biomass carrier for wastewater treatment

چکیده

The development of novel biomass carriers is an option for increasing the efficiency processes at wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Biomass support adhesion specific bacteria and subsequent biofilm formation. As part this work, a new type microfibrous carrier with unique sandwich structure was developed. Technologically, based on warp knitted spacer fabric created double-needle bar machine. Commercially available microfiber materials were used to achieve large surface area (SSA) internal porosity ensure high microorganism capture. A yarn combination chosen reach final density slightly lower than water float in aqueous environment. first, developed described three-dimensional carrier. Next, evaluated properties post nitrification WWTPs compared commercially carriers. Testing (using respirometry, real-time polymerase chain reaction, next-generation sequencing) growing post-nitrification laboratory reactor showed excellent adhesion, stability, abundance microorganisms. rate (more 95%) ammonia nitrogen removal achieved post-nitrification, molecular genetics methods confirmed concentration nitrifying biofilm. have proven their functionality can be considered advance processes.

An Experimental Study of Compression Behavior of Warp-knitted Spacer Fabric

This paper presents an experimental study of the compression behavior of a typical warp-knitted spacer fabric which is specially developed as a cushioning material for human body protection. The fabric has a highly heterogeneous and discontinuous structure and exhibits a complicated compression behavior. Different test boundary conditions and sample sizes were first adopted to conduct compressi...

Utilization of Waste Materials for Microbial Carrier in Wastewater Treatment

This research focused on the ammonium-nitrogen (NH4-N) removal from the domestic wastewater using the attached growth reactors. Two types of waste material of corncob (biodegradable material) and concrete (nonbiodegradable material) were used as the carrier for microorganisms' attachment. During operation, both reactors achieved absolutely high performance of ammonium removal (up to 99%) and to...

A constitutive model for the warp-weft coupled non-linear behavior of knitted biomedical textiles.

Knitted textiles have been used in medical applications due to their high flexibility and low tendency to fray. Their mechanics have, however, received limited attention. A constitutive model for soft tissue using a strain energy function was extended, by including shear and increasing the number and order of coefficients, to represent the non-linear warp-weft coupled mechanics of coarse textil...
